Disoriented Body Clock

It's today here, I'm here,
It's yesterday there, I'm there,
Physically I'm here, just here,
Partly I'm there, still there;

Up at two in the morning, how rare,
Breakfast before dawn, so bizarre,
Drowsy and yawning at work, in the chair,
Late afternoon here, past bedtime there;

It's today here, I'm here,
It's yesterday there, I'm there,
Physically I'm here, just here,
Partly I'm there, still there;

Fight of mind over body, not so fair,
In very distinct time zones, not so okay;
A disoriented body clock, in for repair,
Come to your senses, just for today.

Cheers!

Into The Unknown

Light shines so bright, everyone goes blind,
Steep path so upright, everyone falls behind;

Darkness around plight, cramped, you're confined,
Narrow trail untried, blistered, you're behind;

Distant seems all right, the end on your mind,
Nothing there is defined, no-stop until you find.

Cheers!

A Moment In Time

Hanging on to a wonderful moment,
Everything else changes with a blink,
And you're stuck in a distant moment,
Forever there, forgetting to even blink;

Each passing moment, you become the past,
Shift of the worlds, yesterday no more,
And you're still here, it could be your last,
Forever there, staring at the closing door;

Just complicated moments, like this page,
No prior warning, it just comes crashing,
And you wonder, in an unfamiliar maze,
Forever there, every bit of it flashing;

Affliction they say, is your shining time,
When you think about it, rightly said,
And yet, time frozen in a distant clime,
Forever there, swirling around in your head.

Cheers!

Good to be Back Home

A warm Friday afternoon,
with a homely salty odour in the breeze,
and the very sound of nature's tune,
makes you feel relaxed and at ease.

Busy and noisy like any day,
with much traffic on narrow streets,
and we'll, concrete jungle some say,
maybe, makes you want to retreat.

That's the upside and downside,
With a different taste, the things it lacks,
and we call it home with pride,
Makes you feel so good to be back.

Cheers!

Stranded Abroad

Stranded thousands of miles away,
In-between airport and many hotels everyday,
Waiting on a travel documents to fly away,
And the bank ain't making it easy today;

The last few weeks are too good to be true,
Such a good learning experience, the hard way,
What I said about Alcatraz earlier was also true,
Walking with few mile long leash, around your neck all the way.

Cheers!

From The Unified Heart

A snap for all the love birds,
From the corner of union square,
A picture and a few words,
To all of you out there;

From the rays of the setting sun,
The leaves of of the shady tree,
The unified heart of all of us,
To each one, one by one;

Spread the love, do not hate,
It feels good, not so bad,
Just smile, do not frown,
A good style, from downtown.

Cheers!

Story of the Lone Cypress

Here I stand alone,
they call me Cypress, Lone,
Granite hillside off pebble beach, every lens I reach;
Surviving after scarred by fire,
held with cable for 50 years,
On the edge I stand here,
for over 250 years;

Seen and photographed by many,
I keep growing happy,
Between pacific grove and pebble beach,
out to the sea I reach;
Only if there were plenty,
Here alone we grow and not many,
See you again till next time,
Here I stand till end of time.

Cheers!

Streetlife in San Francisco

Out here on the street, fretting about on my feet,
The night ain't too cold, and the city still awake;

Like a stranger, on the sidewalks of O'Ferrel street,
Waiting for Starbucks to open, here I stand;

A guy comes up to me, looking for something to eat,
Offers me a diamond ring, which sure is a fake;

Asked me if I smoked weed, which I don't need,
I gave him spare change, of which all I had;

A dozen different guys, young, old, poor and in need,
Some of them for a fix, asking for something to take;

I better write a song, about this California street,
And sing it in the Union Square, after daybreak.

Cheers!

Room Change Please

When you wake up at 4 in the morning,
And ask for a room change at the reception;
One might wonder if  I am sleepwalking,
Any type of smoking room, I mention

Coffee For Hatka

Taking a break before the next long flight,
The first place to look for inside any terminal;
Packed with strangers burning to their hearts' delight,
Everyone here got one thing in common somehow;

Well, the odd man out, I roll up and put alight,
Sipping on a Starbucks coffee, freshly brewed and hot;
Waitress calls me Hatka, was my tongue twisted slight,
Got few more hours to recharge, most of it on this spot.

Cheers!
